Designed for a retiring couple along the Texas coast, this unassuming residence racefully rests on the eastern shores of Tres Palacios Bay in Matagorda County. The programmatic requirements encompassed 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, an open office space, an inviting eat-in kitchen, and a screened-in deck, all woven into the fabric of everyday living. Our design vision sought to defy the traditional bulk of coastal homes, embracing a strategy of fragmenting the structure into smaller, harmonious volumes. A luminous, translucent-paneled stairwell beckons residents to ascend within an inviting light well adjacent to the residence's entrance. Throughout, the house respects the architectural guidelines of its neighborhood, ensuring seamless integration into its coastal context
